The eldest senior sister of the Mystic Sect fakes an accident to latch onto Xiao Wuji, the mad regent born under the Ziwei Emperor Star. She siphons off his dragon energy to heal her wounds and strikes a deal with him.
Her talent for the mystic arts exposes her identity to her maternal grandfather, State Preceptor Wen Xuangang, and she becomes a companion to the three princes:
The spoiled eldest prince pretends to be crazy and foolish;
The tyrannical second prince is consumed by greed;
The reclusive third prince has shut his heart away.
With a genius cartographer at her left hand, a reformed prince at her right, and the Ziwei Emperor Star at her back, the senior sister rises from ill-fated star to empress.
But that's not enough. She decides to have another little one of her own to dote on and raise...
Yet when Shen Xingmo breaks conspiracies, quells rebellions, and finally reaches the top of the Star Radiance Tower, she discovers that her bond with the dragon veins runs far deeper than she ever knew...
