Li Yueheng carefully picked up the bronze box and examined it closely. Just then, the unexpected happened: his finger was accidentally cut by a raised spot on the box, and a drop of blood fell onto it. In an instant, something extraordinary took place. The bronze box blazed with light, and a dazzling radiance burst from within, illuminating the entire room. It was as blinding as the midday sun, and Li Yueheng instinctively shut his eyes.
A strange force then surged through the wound and into Li Yueheng's body. It was both icy and searing, as though it possessed the opposing properties of ice and fire, and it rampaged through his meridians. Li Yueheng felt a sharp pain in his head, as if countless steel needles were stabbing him. Strange scenes appeared before his eyes: an ancient battlefield shrouded in smoke, with deafening cries of battle as soldiers in archaic armor fought bravely; mysterious cultivators treading the air and casting all manner of wondrous spells, their dazzling light filled with astonishing power; and an ancient book glowing with light, its characters leaping before his eyes as though they were alive.
The scenes flashed through his mind like the images of a revolving lantern, each one leaving him utterly stunned. He wanted to see them clearly, to understand what was happening, but they were like illusions, vanishing in an instant and leaving him with no clue to grasp.
