Before her master died, he gave Lu Zhi two instructions.
1. Make the Taoist temple bigger and stronger. 2. Find her fiance and live a good life with him.
After descending the mountain, she found her prospective husband, who was on the verge of death.
She couldn't help making a long face. Master, with a face like his, he's clearly destined to die young. How is he supposed to keep her fed and comfortable, and safe and healthy for life?
Just as she'd expected, he rejected her, so Lu Zhi had no choice but to focus on raising her temple's profile.
To that end, she began livestreaming fortune-telling.
An on-screen couple who seemed deeply in love turned, under her guidance, into a caught-in-the-act cheating scandal.
There was an actor who scammed women into marriage, a streamer who fished for corpses, and a rich second-generation heir bound by a ghost marriage.
Her viewers' bizarre stories kept coming, keeping her popularity high. More importantly, she had real skills: feng shui, geomancy, medical consultations, exorcisms, and ghost-catching.
Even the Special Affairs Office took an interest in her.
By a twist of fate, Lu Zhi discovered that the underworld officer she summoned in the ghost realm was none other than the fiance who had kept her at arm's length.
More importantly, evil spirits feared him, and underworld officers respected him.
No matter how hard Lu Zhi racked her brains, she couldn't guess his true identity.
As fate would have it, Lu Zhi told Wen Jingheng, "Since you're meant to marry me and I'm meant to marry you, then Heaven itself favors us. With me here, no one can take your life."
Wen Jingheng: "??? Thanks for asking, but I'm not especially eager to marry you."
In the end, Wen Jingheng took Lu Zhi's hand and said, "Don't you think we should start making plans for our wedding?"
But no one expected that one day, Ox-Head and Horse-Face would finally lose patience and come up to plead their case.
The underworld was in chaos. What kind of demon was at work, preventing the King of Hell from taking his rightful place?
