On the surface, Xu Laoyao is a simple villager, but in truth he is a reclusive Daoist. After spending half his life cultivating and saving countless people, he revealed too many heavenly secrets and ended up losing his family.
My mother, driven to despair by humiliation, hanged herself and took me, her newborn, into the coffin with her. To feed her son, she often used ghost money to buy things in the human world, alarming everyone. Xu Laoyao brought me back to life, and I became his own grandson.
My grandfather doted on me beyond measure, but hardship followed me throughout my life. Yet whenever I reached a critical moment, a mysterious force would secretly come to my aid. Was it the power of my grandfather's Daoist arts, or the Fox Immortal protecting me from the shadows? The answer lies within these pages.
