Back on the Day I Became His Disciple, I Left My Favoritist Master Behind

[Ambitious Disciple x Slacker Master] [Master-Disciple Contrast] [Happy Ending]

After breaking through to the next cultivation level, Yu Lanqing excitedly went to tell her master the good news.

But she found her master helping her junior sister practice flying on a sword.

When he heard that Yu Lanqing had made a breakthrough, his first reaction was to turn and comfort the junior sister.

"Don't mind her. She's not as good as you."

At the sect tournament, Yu Lanqing held nothing back. With a single sword strike, she forced the junior sister to the edge of the arena.

Yu Lanqing was still wondering how the junior sister her master called exceptionally gifted could be so easily defeated when, the next moment, her master's life-bound spirit sword pierced her heart.

Only then did she understand: it wasn't that she was inferior to the junior sister. Her master was simply playing favorites.

It turned out that her master and the junior sister had long since made a life-and-death pact and become Dao companions.

After returning to the day of the apprenticeship ceremony, Yu Lanqing crushed the jade token marking her as the chief disciple right in front of her master.

Then she turned and knelt before the hall. "This disciple wishes to become Elder Shen's disciple."

As the mountain erupted in an uproar, the Ancestor Shen, mocked as "Xuantian's Number One Good-for-Nothing," lifted his hood, revealing a breathtaking face sharper than any sword. "Since you dared to stake your life and jump into this fire pit of mine, I'll show them..."

"What true Heaven-Burning Sword Intent is."

When Yu Lanqing once again forced the junior sister to the edge of the life-and-death arena, her former master roared, "You insolent traitor!"

But Shen Huaizhuo's sword aura forced him to his knees. "My disciple is not yours to discipline!"

With his arms around the junior sister, her Dao heart shattered, the former master finally saw the truth...

The jewel he had once discarded as worthless had long since become the sharpest moonlight in someone else's scabbard.
