Zhang Dashan woke from a nap reborn in 1975, as the useless husband everyone in the village looked down on.
He faced a shrewish, sharp-tongued mother-in-law, a wife, Li Xiulan, who was skin and bones, and a youngest daughter, Xiaohua, who was constantly bullied.
He vowed to change his life.
From a good-for-nothing to a man who could hold up the sky.
Using his wit and his own two hands, he not only protected his family, but also carved out a path to prosperity in the barren land with his foresight and medical skills.
He rose through an awakening and turned the tables against all odds.
This time, he would never let fate control him again!
