Nietzsche once said, “Life has no meaning in itself. Everything is an experience.”
Yang Jiang also once said that we are here to experience life.
If they are right,
then
some people experience lives as sweet as sugar and honey,
while others find life bitter as goldthread;
some experience lives as plain as water,
while others find life a jumble of every flavor;
some find life full of delights,
while others find it as cold as frost.
Of course,
some people first endure bitterness and icy hardship, only to find endless springtime afterward;
while others first bask in endless springtime, only to endure bitterness and icy hardship in the end.
Some of it comes down to personal choice,
and some is fate’s design.
In short, life takes all kinds of forms,
but in the end, all it does is leave us with a wry laugh.
