The Seventies' Beautiful Sweetheart Makes the Cold Educated Youth's Heart Race

Most novels feature a hero rescuing a beauty. For Yu Nian’an, it was the beauty who rescued the hero. The first time Yu Nian’an pulled Gu Shen out of the river, she thought, He’s really good-looking. The villagers all said the new educated youth had nothing going for him but his looks, and that he was all show and no substance, with no strength for farm work. But Yu Nian’an disagreed. She liked handsome men. After all, being handsome might only last a while, but being ugly lasts a lifetime. Looking at Gu Shen, whose features were growing more and more striking, Yu Nian’an had a flash of inspiration. A daring idea took shape. She would weave a net with tenderness and lay her plans with care. She would entice Gu Shen into willingly living off her, one step at a time. Only after she had completely claimed him did she realize that the villagers had been wrong about him. The educated youth was not only good-looking, he was useful too.
