In 1976, Dilizar and Ayihan in Xinjiang were in a fierce dispute over irrigation and housing construction. The conflict between the two families also spread to the younger generation. Their childhood sweetheart, Aliya, no longer let Song Xiang go to school on her big white horse, and she also made things difficult for him. Later, during the wave of educated youth returning home, Aliya returned to the city with her father, an educated youth, and lived a life like a city dweller. Aliya also became the target of Song Xiang's pursuit.
Electrician Song Jianguo was inexplicably angry because of the shameful "Eight-Power Allied Forces Project" in the electric power field, so he changed his son Song Xiang's university ambition to the electric power system. Song Xiang also learned that UHV transmission technology is the foundation for the country's take-off, but its research and development is as difficult as two bombs and one satellite. World powers such as the United States, Japan and Europe have successively invested massive funds, manpower and material resources, and the research and development has failed after half a century.
However, Song Xiang and other three generations of electric power workers, old, middle and young, were not afraid of hardships and dangers. They gathered dozens of academicians from both academies and thousands of electric power experts in the mechanical and electric power industries across the country. It took 23 years to break countless foreign monopolies and create countless world firsts. Only then did they finally overcome the unsolvable problem of UHV and achieve the electric power miracle of falling behind, catching up, and surpassing. So far, only China in the world has independently mastered and applied this technology.
So far, China has completed 39 UHV projects. The UHV lines are criss-crossing and form the main artery of China, lighting up the lives of 1.3 Billion people and giving wings to the economy to take off.
