The truth behind a construction accident many years ago has become a painful knot in the hearts of two families. Chen Shanqi, a young man who dreams of becoming an outstanding construction engineer, cannot study abroad after graduating because of his family's financial difficulties. At his parents' insistence, he gets caught up in the rush to secure a civil-service job.
