A Sweet and Delicate Beauty

In the world of Kunqu opera, Meng Ying's lovely voice and delicate beauty have countless people coveting her, while her fiance is almost obsessively infatuated with her.

"Yingying, a beauty like you belongs locked away in an exquisite cage."

Hounded by a man's frenzied pursuit and the Meng family's elaborate schemes, Meng Ying finds herself trapped with no way forward or back.

Until Huo Ze, the powerful and revered Buddhist devotee of Beijing's elite circle, stops in front of her stage. "Miss Meng, your singing is lovely."

Then came countless days and nights.

No one knew how this aloof, ascetic, untouchable Third Master of the Huo family behaved with her behind closed doors, entangled with her in bed until they were spent.

Nor did anyone know that she had approached him with a head full of schemes and ulterior motives, only to nearly lose herself in his boundless devotion.

When his beloved from the past returned, Meng Ying finally came to her senses and pulled away, smiling as she tossed the words at him: "Third Master, haven't you grown tired of acting after all this time?"

She left decisively, without looking back.

Later, the man, nearly driven mad, pinned her against the opera stage and coaxed her softly: "Yingying, sing one more song for me."
