Deliberately Tempting

(A cultured, scholarly family + married first, love later + long-laid plans + secret crush) (A dazzling beauty who’s charming but never spoiled VS an emotionally steady, modern-Chinese-style CEO) Zhou Yao, the company’s new intern, is strikingly beautiful and spends money like water. Everyone guesses she must have someone powerful backing her, since she never bats an eye at the cost. Later, the group’s employees notice that ever since their boss returned from overseas, he’s been leaving work at a much more regular time. They assume he’s finally feeling charitable and has stopped acting like a ruthless capitalist. Until Zhou Yao complains in the break room again: “I never knew work could be this exhausting. I’m about to develop a neck problem from it.” The very next day, everyone at the company receives a gift from the boss: a lifetime VIP card for a massage center. That evening, the young intern blocks the boss from entering their bridal suite and demands furiously, “Isn’t your ‘love me, love my dog’ routine getting a little too excessive?” Qin Yanshi gives a leisurely, quiet laugh. “There’s no ‘love me, love my dog.’ There’s only ever been you.”
