【Transmigration + both reborn + switched marriages + a matriarch’s rise + System + mind-reading (readable when unlocked in either direction)】When Ye Muyun learns that Ye Jinhua has suddenly started making a fuss about switching their marriage arrangements, she knows that her eldest illegitimate half-sister, who took her place as the legitimate daughter, has been reborn too. Ye Muyun was originally the Ye family’s only legitimate daughter, but a baby-switching scheme left her living elsewhere. When the truth came out, the Ye family decided to let the mistake stand. To soothe Ye Jinhua’s fragile feelings, they publicly declared Ye Muyun the Ye family’s second legitimate daughter.
In her previous life, Ye Muyun married a poor scholar, while her elder legitimate sister married the heir to a duke’s estate. At first, everyone said the elder sister was lucky to marry into the duke’s household and become its mistress. Later, however, everyone said she was unlucky. First, the heir refused to obey his parents’ marriage arrangements for the sake of his one true love, leaving his wife alone in their marriage. Then his hidden identity was exposed, and the duke’s family was accused of plotting rebellion. In the end, Ye Jinhua died in despair at her place of exile. Meanwhile, the supposedly humble scholar Ye Muyun married enjoyed a smooth rise through officialdom, eventually becoming Grand Secretary, and she was granted an honorific title as his wife, living in unparalleled splendor.
When they were reborn and marriage negotiations began again, Ye Muyun discovered that her elder sister was making a scene and demanding they switch matches. Hearing this, Ye Muyun only smiled faintly, neither agreeing nor objecting. No one knew that when she was reborn for the first time, she had transmigrated from another world. In her previous life, everyone said she had married a good husband, but only she knew the bitterness behind it. Her husband’s rise to Grand Secretary was her doing, and the humble scholar had originally been carefully chosen by her father for her elder sister. Her sister had scorned him and passed him on to Ye Muyun. Now, in this new life, Ye Jinhua still wanted to steal her good match.
Ye Muyun: Go ahead and take him, you idiot!
There is no sparkle, and the ending is even more of a mess.
