Song Tingwan walked toward Han Ci, full of joy, only to hear him say:
"If I ever like Song Tingwan, I'll be a dog."
Song Tingwan's eyes tightened with tears. Fighting the urge to cry, she said:
"Then you'd better make the most of your time as a human."
Han Ci hadn't realized Song Tingwan was standing behind him.
But the young man was too proud to lower his head or explain himself.
Until five years later...
Han Ci held Song Tingwan's hand, his voice choked with restrained tears. "Wanwan, please don't say yes to him, okay?"
Song Tingwan asked playfully, "If I don't say yes to him, should I say yes to you?"
Ignoring her sarcasm, Han Ci said, "I love you."
Song Tingwan laughed. "Have you forgotten what you said?"
Han Ci pressed his lips together. "Woof, woof, woof."
Seeing Song Tingwan's eyes turn red, Han Ci finally realized how awful the things he'd said back then had been.
