At the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Gao Min, from Zigong, Sichuan, won China's first Olympic springboard diving gold medal. She changed the Chinese diving team's standing on the world stage, and changed the destinies of two boys from the Salt Capital, setting Zhuang Yan and Cai Deng on the path to diving.
But not long after Zhuang Yan joined the provincial team, he was seriously injured while saving someone and had no choice but to retire in tears, his dream of becoming a champion still unfulfilled.
To help him reclaim that dream, his coach and teammates helped him through rehabilitation. He returned to the diving team as a training partner, joining Cai Deng and the others as they continued their push toward the Olympics.
From athlete to training partner, Zhuang Yan never lost sight of his original dream. The dream of becoming a champion will burn forever!
