Journey to the Underworld

Mu Shengfeng felt as though he had come to the heart of the world’s desolation. He saw so much: life and death, withering and flourishing. He saw a gray-haired divine envoy descend upon the barren earth and burn all things; he saw a girl in white fall into waters rippling with moonlight; he saw red-and-white birds soar through the blue-black Nine Netherworlds before turning to dust; he saw a black flower of love sink into a sea of a lover’s crimson tears; he saw an angel in a black dress flicker and weep beneath the moonlight of a deep-red apocalypse; he saw an emperor die on a high terrace, while the assassin took his own life on the imperial throne; he saw a wing-broken goddess mend her feathers beside a frigid pool in the northern winter; he saw a white unicorn carrying the flower of evil stroll through a withered graveyard. He saw all things weep. In the withered gardens, billions of years of deathly silence bloomed. The Moonlit Garden brought nothing but loneliness. In the end, all things would meet the death that was theirs.
