The Great Wasteland of the Apocalypse

Five thousand years ago, an apocalyptic cataclysm erased humanity’s splendid civilization, leaving behind only the hazy myths and legends known today. What truly happened in the ancient wilderness? Did the gods, demons, ghosts, and monsters of those myths really exist? What force wiped out every trace of civilization? If time could turn back, would there still be a chance to change everything? Many years later, when people speak of that vanished history, they still sometimes recite the poem that records its long-buried past: “The royal city rocked, traitorous ministers ran wild; evil demons emerged in the southern wilderness. A boy chosen by fate set out to fight, brave of heart and strong of soul. The celestial fox and white wolf gazed at the blue moon; dragons roared and phoenixes cried, shaking the rivers and mountains. Ten thousand years passed in a flash, the apocalyptic calamity came; one sword swept through the empty world, and peace returned beneath the heavens.”
