1991: My Era in Chinese Entertainment

Back to 1991, when the arts were flourishing.

Zhang Guoshi was already making his mark, Chen the Great Director was still studying abroad, and the Fifth Generation directors were on the verge of fame.

Drawing on the memories from before he was reborn and standing on the shoulders of giants, Li Yishu wants to experience the joy of being a great director, too.

He starts by writing, directing, and starring in That Mountain, That Man, That Dog, then plans Farewell My Concubine and works with Qingxia on The Reader.

First he wins the Golden Lion, then the Palme d'Or, and finally the Golden Bear.

After achieving a grand slam in art-house cinema, he switches to commercial films and becomes a pioneer of Chinese blockbusters.
