Master of the Divine Arts of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches

The connection between Heaven and Earth has been severed, and the Divine Land has entered an age without cultivation. After waking from a long sleep, Lu Yuan found himself transmigrated to a strange world where immortals and gods had vanished, martial arts and Taoist magic were steadily declining, and steam-powered machinery was rapidly flourishing. Here, foreign tribes seized the state and founded the Great Jin, forcing people to shave their heads and change their clothes, seizing land and enslaving people as they trampled across thousands of miles of territory. Here, within the country, an undying demon empress held the court in her grip, bringing ruin to the nation and misery to its people, while corpses of the starving littered the land. Abroad, the powerful nations of Shenluo sent ironclad warships and steam-powered airships to bombard the country's gates. The Jin court suffered defeat after defeat, ceding territory and paying reparations, stripped of its sovereignty and shamed before the world. Such was the moment when the land was in turmoil and the nation teetered on the brink of collapse. Lu Yuan arrived with a celestial book in hand. With points of fortune, he could illuminate the Thirty-Six Heavenly Powers and Seventy-Two Earthly Arts, refining them into divine abilities: [Earthly Art: Feeding]: Devour all things and extract their essence to strengthen yourself, forging an extraordinary physique from the inside out. [Earthly Art: Radiance]: Chant incantations to summon a protective divine glow. No magic can harm you, no evil can come near, and its light surrounds you with limitless wonders. [Heavenly Power: Nine Breaths of Qi]: Breathe in and out for nine breaths, drawing in the primordial qi of the universe and refining it into magical power. This is the supreme Taoist method of cultivating qi: simply breathing makes you stronger! Lu Yuan: “Martial arts and Taoist magic, cannons and warships? Screw that, I’m cultivating immortality!”
