After Concubine Xi Married the Fourth Prince in the Qing Dynasty, She Was Spoiled Rotten in Three Days

Yining, who transmigrated into the Kangxi era as a low-ranking palace maid, suddenly discovered that her surname was Niohuru. Of the Niohuru clan members she knew from this period, the most famous were Qianlong's mother and Yongzheng's Consort Xi. Then she looked at her family's plight: they had all been exiled and forced to work day and night. Yining made up her mind. She would be Consort Xi, whether she was or not. The Fourth Prince, who thought he'd gone to great lengths to keep the woman he loved by his side, was determined to spoil her until she was the most powerful woman in the palace. So the entire palace watched the suspicious, cold-hearted Fourth Prince wait on one particular woman hand and foot, pour her tea, and clear every obstacle in her way. A scheming concubine said, “Sister, as women of the same clan, we ought to look after each other.” So Yining saw to it that she was sent to the Cold Palace. The empress, all smiles and honeyed words, but treacherous at heart, declared, “As long as I live, none of you will be more than a consort.” Yining replied, “The empress? If I’m going to be anything, I’ll be the empress dowager.”
