The ’80s Short-Drama Queen: Flash-Married to a Rough-and-Ready Husband Who Spoils Her

[Entertainment Industry Queen vs. Iron-Blooded Roughneck]

A 21st-century entertainment industry queen transmigrates into an unfortunate cannon-fodder character in the 1980s!

Fresh from escaping death after jumping into a river to get away from her scumbag ex’s emotional abuse, she grabs her savior, the iron-blooded roughneck Lu Zhengnian, and blurts out, “Need a wife? Marry me!”

With his adoptive parents long gone and his little sister to care for, Lu Zhengnian is trying to start a business and could use some help. In a low voice, he replies, “I do! I’ll marry you!”

And so their contract marriage begins!

She tears into the scumbag and his shameless mistress, and kicks her awful relatives to the curb!

Who says modern short dramas can be popular, but nothing can be done in the 1980s?

No 4K cameras? Lug around a 16mm camera!

No filming locations? Turn the old streets and state-run restaurants into sets!

No automatic editing? Cut the film by hand!

Lin Wanqiu makes short dramas a sensation in the 1980s.

Her roughneck husband backs her every step of the way: “Don’t be afraid, honey! I’ve got your back!”
