The Alluring Maidservant on a Trial Marriage

[Sweet romance; both leads devoted only to each other; household intrigue; a bedchamber maid rises in status; the hero is head over heels]

Lin Wanyu, the top courtesan at Yangzhou’s Zuihua House, was chosen by the Wang family in the capital to test the marriage bed for their young lady. Her beauty was so striking that she seemed to have skin like ice and bones like jade…

She was to find out whether the Wang family’s chosen groom, Lu Huaijin, was capable of consummating the marriage…

Determined to complete the task and return to Yangzhou to support her younger brother’s studies and imperial examination ambitions, Lin Wanyu, who had always performed arts but never sold her body, undressed and nervously wrapped her arms around Lu Huaijin’s neck.

She had planned to do what was required and hurry home, but Lu Huaijin turned over and pinned her to the bed, biting her red lips savagely. “Why are you holding back? You sounded so sweet just a moment ago.”
