Snow Drifting Over the Oil Fields

In 1999, an explosion at the No. 3 Oil Factory in a small northeastern city took the life of Lin Lu’an’s father, the factory’s safety officer. With his dying breath, he gave his life to protect everyone at the factory, writing a new chapter in the spirit of oilfield safety. Of course, Lin Lu’an wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps. She dreamed of becoming an investigative journalist, working on the front lines and, like her father, risking her life to defend her ideals and protect the nation’s energy resources. But life had other plans. After graduating, Lin Lu’an moved to Beijing and took an operations job that could not have been further from her dream. By a twist of fate, she returned to her hometown’s oilfield television station, where she investigated major and minor incidents that threatened oilfield safety. She uncovered the truth behind her father’s death and exposed the people behind the threats to safety at the factory. The snow falling over the oilfield ultimately gave way to the clearing of an old injustice, while Lin Lu’an’s new short series promoting cultural tourism became a powerful tool for spreading oilfield culture.
