Choosing a Consort: This Emperor Will Only Accept an E-Rank

Zhao Mu, an overworked office drone who works 996, transmigrates to the unfamiliar Great Qing dynasty and becomes an emperor.

Though his harem is filled with three thousand beauties, all around him!

Above him, the two empress dowagers rule from behind the curtain, lecturing him at every turn.

Below him, powerful ministers hold sway over the court, leaving him terrified.

Even the beauties are roses covered in thorns: he can look, but he can't touch.

Being a puppet emperor would be bad enough.

What terrifies Zhao Mu even more is this:

In the past thirty years, the dynasty has had ten emperors!

The more diligently an emperor rules, the shorter his life!

Their causes of death are one more bizarre and pathetic than the next!

To save his own skin, Zhao Mu can only try his best to be a foolish ruler who dotes on wicked consorts, promotes eunuchs, and neglects his duties.

But who could have guessed that the more foolish he acts, the more his ministers adore him?

The more he neglects the government, the more money and grain the treasury accumulates.

The less he wants to be emperor, the stronger the nation's military becomes.

What makes Zhao Mu despair even more is this:

As he keeps slacking off, he ends up defeating the Oirat and avenging his father.

As he keeps slacking off, he reclaims the Sixteen Prefectures of Yanyun!

As he keeps slacking off, he wipes out every surrounding nation!

When he finally tries to escape the palace, countless loyal ministers carry him back to the dragon throne. Zhao Mu breaks down and cries, "You've ruined me!"
