The Matriarch Is a Force to Be Reckoned With: She Keeps the Marquis's Household in Line

Shen Heyue had spent her whole life as a blood bank for her family, only to die a miserable death in the scorching heat of the apocalypse.

When she opened her eyes again, she had become the matriarch of a fallen marquis's household: a foolish, biased mother who spoiled her children and tormented her daughters-in-law.

Her eldest son was pursuing a tofu seller and wanted to divorce his wife and marry her instead.

Her eldest daughter wanted to marry into a wealthy family and teamed up with her brother to bully her sister-in-law.

Her second son spent his days in brothels, running from reality.

Her youngest son was an ungrateful wretch who looked down on his mother and sister-in-law.

Shen Heyue swung her hand and laid into them with sticks. Ungrateful children needed a beating.

She had the vast stores of supplies she'd accumulated in the apocalypse, so she opened a little restaurant and got her daughter-in-law to roll up her sleeves and work alongside her.

A love-struck crybaby can be cured only by more money than she can count.

Her hapless husband gets out of prison and comes home acting like a lord, wanting control of the money and to take over the little restaurant?

Her daughter-in-law is already divorced, and she doesn't want her son or daughter anymore, either. You old geezer, why keep you around if we're not getting divorced? For the New Year?
