A Blessing from the Heavens

The handsome and celebrated Prince Huai, Gu Yunchao, has just one flaw: he brings misfortune to his wives. Every woman he is betrothed to dies. He has already outlived three fiancées in a row. Then he became engaged to Chu Xuanyin, the eldest daughter of the Yongping Marquis's household. Her wolfish relatives, her scheming romantic rival, and even the whole capital are waiting for Chu Xuanyin to meet with an untimely death. But they wait and wait. They see Chu Xuanyin put her awful relatives in their place, build a thriving business, and finally marry Prince Huai in a grand procession laden with ten miles of wedding gifts. Chu Xuanyin pats her chest: "I've got one thing going for me: I'm ridiculously lucky, so I'm not afraid of bad luck! If you disagree, bring it on!"
