The Girl Who Plays the Strings

Chen Miaoyin is the sole third-generation heir to a family of erhu musicians, with extraordinary skill on the instrument.

But at sixteen, a misunderstanding made her rebel and choose Western music instead!

With no other choice, everyone pinned their hopes on Ming Xi, a young man who studied under Grandpa Chen.

Miaoyin discovered that the stiff young man she had dismissed as nothing but a pretty face was actually skilled in all kinds of Western music!

One day, Ming Xi called out to her of his own accord. "Miaomiao, do you know why I chose traditional Chinese music?"

Miaoyin shook her head, puzzled.

"Because the soul of our nation is priceless, and traditional Chinese music is part of it." He added, "If you like Western music, I can teach you. I'll also carry on the erhu tradition for you until you love it again."
