Tales of Two Cities in Xinjiang Aid Work

The Twin Cities of Xinjiang Assistance follows the efforts of officials and professionals working in Tacheng and Shihezi, weaving together five key areas: securing people's livelihoods, building self-sustaining industries, providing medical support, putting down roots through education, and fostering cultural exchange. Through the mutual commitment of those providing aid and the people of all ethnic groups in the frontier region, who meet one another with sincerity and affection, the book showcases both the beauty of Tacheng's Thousand Springs Lake and the vast grasslands of Shihezi. It also portrays the choices made by aid workers who put the greater good before their own families, and the warmth of local people who regard them as family. Ultimately, it highlights the deepening sense of community among the Chinese nation under the new era's counterpart assistance strategy for Xinjiang, and conveys the profound meaning behind the saying, "One trip to aid Xinjiang, a lifelong bond with the frontier."
