A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality: From the Start, I Suppress a Ten-Thousand-Year-Old Demon

Lu Qingping, a village boy, is possessed by the remnant soul of a demon lord from ten thousand years ago. By chance, he activates the ancient spiritual treasure Xuan Yuan Pagoda and manages to suppress the demon’s soul instead. From then on, he embarks on the path of cultivating immortality, scheming and cooperating with the demon lord as they trade wits and wiles, caught between the immortal and demonic worlds. Demonic energy is resurging across the Chiyuan Continent, spiritual energy is drying up, and the world is on the verge of entering an age of decline. A disaster is approaching. As Lu Qingping gradually grows stronger, he begins to take control of the situation. While scheming against the old demon, he slowly learns about the demon’s past and comes to sympathize with what he has endured. When he finally has the power to destroy him, he chooses to let him live. As their bond deepens, the old demon Mo Wuxie is gradually won over by Lu Qingping’s character. He willingly helps him, passing on all his experience and knowledge without reservation. In return, Lu Qingping actively searches for Mo Wuxie’s scattered soul fragments and helps him reunite his spirit. During his battle with the leader of the Immortal Dao Alliance, Lu Qingping finally comprehends the law of the “demon.” No one is born a demon: it is the human heart that makes one. With a righteous heart, even a demon can follow the Dao; with an evil heart, even the Dao becomes demonic. After killing the leader of the Immortal Dao Alliance, Lu Qingping gathers the fragments of the Boundary-Sealing Stones and repairs the shattered seal between heaven and earth. He draws a clear boundary between humans and demons, ends a thousand years of conflict, and withdraws from the world with Mo Wuxie to cultivate in seclusion. In the end, he ascends to immortality and attains the Great Dao.
