On Our Wedding Night, We Both Poisoned Each Other to See Who Was Crueler

Yun Zhi was forced to marry her stepsister’s intended, the heir to the Marquis of Wuling, who was gravely injured, on the brink of death, and unconscious. She was supposed to bring him good luck, and she really did wake him up.

Just as her dream husband, who everyone had thought was sure to die, woke up, her stepsister changed her mind. Her birth family pressured Yun Zhi to switch places with her stepsister, then accused her of plotting to harm her stepsister and deliberately stealing the marriage. Her husband’s family weighed the pros and cons and decided they didn’t want her either, since she was only their stepdaughter.

No one cared how she felt, let alone that this would ruin her reputation.

That was all right. She cared.

She slipped a poison pill into her newly awakened husband’s mouth and smiled as she threatened him. “Have the heir step forward and keep me as your wife, or we’ll die together.”

Qu Wuyi was furious. He had never taken such a loss before!

So after keeping her, just as she wanted, he forced her to drink a cup of poisoned wine in return.

A good turn deserves a good turn in kind. Now that they were husband and wife, they couldn’t be discourteous.
