Weren’t You Supposed to Leave Me the Family Fortune? You’re the Ones Who Forced Me to Take the Music Scene by Storm!

“Mom, Dad, I don't want to chase my dream of making music anymore. I want to inherit the family fortune!” “No! You chose this path. If you don't make something of yourself, I'll donate the whole family fortune!” “Teacher, I want to…” “No! You don't! You can't afford the penalty for breaking your contract! The music scene needs you!” Chen Yi was at a loss. The original owner's moment of foolishness had ruined his dream of being a rich kid who could lie flat. With no way out, Chen Yi could only look upon the Chinese music scene with pity and compassion. “You're forcing me to sweep the music scene? Fine!” In an instant, songs in every style appeared out of nowhere, including “Ordinary Friends,” “Plain Face,” “Ten Years,” “East Wind Breaks,” and “Jiangnan.” … A year later, musicians everywhere were delighted. “Thanks to Chen Yi, Chinese-language music has gained a splash of new color, and a whole new era has begun!” Two years later, musicians began to feel that something was off. “Why does this guy never let go of the charts?” Years later, Chen Yi reached the pinnacle of the music scene. Musicians who had been tormented by him stared at the music charts on every platform, close to tears. “Which genius let this monster into the music scene? Come out here. We promise we won't beat you to death.” “Ten years! Do you know what I've been through these ten years? Ever since this kid came out of nowhere, I haven't seen anyone else at number one!” Chen Yi's former talent-show mentor trembled in fear. … A reporter asked, “Mr. Chen, what inspired you to pursue music and then sweep through the music scene so effortlessly?” Chen Yi was baffled. “??? Didn't you people force me into it?”
