A Trap for the Heart

Jiang Yun had always thought that her marriage to Pei Yuhuai was nothing more than a mutually beneficial arrangement. After all, he had someone else in his heart, and she was hiding feelings for someone too. But after they married, the longer they spent together, the more Jiang Yun felt that something was off. Pei Yuhuai was far too uninhibited around her, and far too attentive. Wasn’t he supposed to love someone else? Weren’t they supposed to treat each other with polite respect? Then one day, she found an old photograph in his bookcase. The person in the picture was her at sixteen, bright and radiant in her school uniform. On the back, in handwriting she knew all too well, were the words: “I want to be with her, forever.”
