Your Highness, Princess, Don't Get Carried Away

Hot-tempered Princess vs. Scheming Grand Tutor, a couple who are always at each other’s throats Princess Nanzhizi of Zhaoyang is the capital’s infamous grudge-holding black lotus. After a scumbag tricks her into marriage, a white lotus frames her, and her own sister betrays her, she makes the powerful Grand Tutor Shang Yanjun the number-one name on her enemies list. He had impeached her and put her under house arrest, earning the nickname “Living King of Hell.” She swears she’ll have her revenge. But her revenge plans keep going wrong. She tries to poison his tea, only to get splashed and drenched. She attempts to assassinate him in the bath, only for the half-naked Shang Yanjun to see everything. She endures humiliation while lying low in her scumbag ex’s home, only to be bullied by his mother and concubines. She even gets chased by a bizarre “fellow countryman” demanding an official post, until she snaps, “Why are this bunch of enemies so hard to kill?” Shang Yanjun is a scheming Grand Tutor who holds the evidence in major cases involving imperial exam fraud and the sale of official posts. He needs an “inside agent.” Seeing Nanzhizi all claws and teeth but remarkably resilient, he comes up with a plan. “The enemy of my enemy might be willing to join forces?” So Nanzhizi is forced to go undercover in her scumbag ex’s home, putting on an act while enduring humiliation. Shang Yanjun pulls the strings from behind the scenes, offering her weapons and a way up while constantly testing her. An imperial decree breaks the deadlock: “The princess has behaved without proper decorum. From this day on, she is to study etiquette under the Grand Tutor until her wedding!” Nanzhizi is horrified to realize she’ll have to face the number-one name on her enemies list every day, while Shang Yanjun calmly teaches her the first rule of Lessons for Women: “Respect your teacher and honor the Way.” From then on, at the Imperial College, she’s the irritable student and he’s the sharp-tongued strict teacher. In the world of intrigue, she’s the unsheathed blade and he’s the hand moving the pieces. And somehow, the book filled with Shang Yanjun’s name on every page begins to show signs of a racing heart and flushed cheeks…
