Lonely Island Lamplighter

A typhoon caused a leakage in the transformer and accidentally took the life of Yu Lei's father. It also made him unforgettable because of the frequent power outages in his hometown of Luzhai Village. With the belief of "lighting up the lights in thousands of homes", Yu Lei, who graduated with a major in electric power, devoted himself to the construction of Beihai Power Plant. This "isolated island" power plant built on land reclamation has a difficult environment. The thermal power industry is even regarded as a "sunset industry", and there are constant doubts. Yu Lei has experienced lovelorn, workplace rejection, changes in relationships, and even the death of relatives, but he has always stuck to his original intention. Faced with environmental pressure and technical challenges, he and his colleagues promoted the transformation of power plants into green and smart ones: adopting ultra-supercritical technology, seawater desulfurization, deploying photovoltaic energy storage, and building smart platforms. From traditional thermal power to a zero-emission energy base of "coal, circuit, port, wind and solar storage and transportation", they have created a new path and become the "game-breaker" of thermal power and the "lighter" on the isolated island. ——This article commemorates "Shenhua Guohua Electric Power", the former four small power giants.
