Back to the 1980S: Who Says Daughters Are a Burden?

In his previous life, Chen Daqian was so obsessed with having a son to carry on the family line that, despite spending every night in bed with his wife, he ended up with seven daughters, all dismissed as “money-losing burdens.” Disheartened, Chen Daqian became idle and picked up drinking and gambling. In the end, he even sold his own daughters like merchandise to cover his gambling debts! Only after his family was torn apart, when he saw others surrounded by children and grandchildren and enjoying happy family lives, with daughters who were even more devoted and considerate than sons, did Chen Daqian realize how ridiculous his preference for boys had been! Even though Chen Daqian later rode the wave of reform and opening up, went into business, and became a nationally renowned tycoon, the family bonds he had lost could never be restored… Fortunately, Heaven gave Chen Daqian the chance to live his life over! When he opens his eyes again, Chen Daqian is back forty-five years in the past, in 1980, on the very day he sold his eldest daughter Yingying with his own hands! Looking at his wife and children before him, Chen Daqian swears that in this life, even if he has to eat tree bark and chew grass roots, he will take good care of his wife and children!
