Seizing the Moment

This book depicts the winding journey of the automotive industry, represented by its protagonist, as it seizes the tailwind of favorable policies to break through the obstacles facing the new energy vehicle sector and catapult China into becoming the world's top car exporter. Since the start of the new century, a group of Chinese people have pursued their dream of building cars, making use of every opportunity, breaking through barriers, and relying on exceptional intelligence and a hands-on spirit to advance one step at a time. Faced with a weak and backward traditional automotive supply chain, they cast aside their reservations, took the long view, and pressed forward. After years of market competition and evolving technical approaches, they spent more than two decades overcoming three major technological challenges: energy storage, power generation, and control systems. Battery technology broke through, drive systems matured, and intelligent controls led the way. As the times changed, Western companies, unwilling to fall behind, secretly plotted a counterattack and tried to turn back the tide, but it was too late. Through the efforts of the protagonist and others, Chinese family car brands surged ahead to lead the world, crossing mountains and seas to reach overseas markets and claiming the glittering crown of industry, fulfilling the long-held wish of generations of Chinese automotive workers. Through the arduous journey of the new energy vehicle industry's growth, this book reflects the spirit of an era in which Chinese people dare to surpass others, embrace innovation, and strive for excellence. It also shows how Chinese industry and technology pursue the creation of new quality productive forces.
