The Algorithm of Attraction

The first time Chu Ying saw Han Ye was in an elevator.

She boldly sneaked into the CEO's private elevator and pretended to make a phone call, just to lure him into the conference room.

No one expected this newly permanent employee to dare challenge the technical experts with calculations done by hand.

When she was isolated, helpless, and overwhelmed by their doubts, Han Ye walked over from behind, tablet in hand.

He said, “Chu Ying, if you can't do it, you still lose.”

And so their story began.

There were open, aboveboard clashes, as well as secret dates conducted under the radar.

He created an AI department for her and fast-tracked her promotion to manager. He also made her “princess” persona a household name, turning her into the company's public-facing tech icon.

Chu Ying: My start was explosive, but I'm going to change my fate against all odds with algorithms.

Han Ye: That's right. I want nothing at all. I'll bet on luck, and I'll bet that one day she'll turn back to me. As long as she comes to me, I won't let her lose.
