Accused of Having an Illegitimate Child? The Empress Causes Chaos to Bring the Harem to Heel

Five years after she was thrown into the Cold Palace for cuckolding the emperor, Jin Mingyuan falls into a dry well and loses her memory. When she opens her eyes again, she sees a dilapidated room, maids who deceive their superiors and hide things from those below, and a frail, emaciated son. She is furious. Things can hardly get worse, so she decides to stop putting up with it! She beats the maids, takes on the concubines, and gives anyone who messes with her a direct hit from the Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms! At last, she beats all the demons and monsters into submission. Just as she’s focused on giving her son a good life, she runs into a man. He’s handsome, with sharp brows, bright eyes, and a distinguished air. Most importantly, his face looks just like her darling son’s! Well, would you look at that. He must be the adulterous lover who abandoned her and their child! He even dares show his face in front of her. She’d be letting herself and her son down if she didn’t capture him and put him to work after all they’ve suffered! Soon, everyone in the palace, from the Empress Dowager and the concubines to the maids and eunuchs, knows that the empress in the Cold Palace seems to have gone mad. Her words and behavior have grown increasingly erratic, and, as if that weren’t enough, she’s mistaken the emperor for her adulterous lover! Everyone waits for Jin Mingyuan to incur the emperor’s wrath and be sentenced to hang herself or drink poison, bringing her life to an end. But instead, they see her brought out of the Cold Palace, dressed in her phoenix robes once more, and favored for the rest of her life.
