The Eighth Year After She Broke Her Promise

They first met in Haicheng when they were young. Back then, she was An Feng: ambitious, ready to spread her wings and soar, and so dazzling that Bo Jingyan fell for her at first sight, never to love anyone else. She never thought she was unworthy of him, even though he was the crown prince of the capital's elite circle. That was until she was twenty, when someone shattered her pride. Eight years later, they met again in Jingbei. By then, she had changed her name to An Jing. Her heart was as serene as a bodhi tree's, and she was merely scraping by, too down-and-out to dare take a single step toward Bo Jingyan. She knew better than anyone that she was unworthy of him. He disagreed. He said that whether she was An Feng or An Jing, she would always be the phoenix at the center of his heart. Then he pulled her along and helped her soar into the clouds once more.
