Enticed by Spring

[Delicate, slim-waisted maid x aloof, noble young master]

After her parents died, Du Lanruo was left adrift, exhausting herself to support her fiancé's studies so he could pass the imperial exams. For his sake, she didn't hesitate to sell herself into servitude at the Duke's residence.

To fulfill her fiancé's wish to “stay on in the capital,” she agreed to become the young master's “medicine,” in exchange for money to help him make the right connections.

Her fiancé passed the imperial examinations and became the top scholar, but then he decided to marry a high-ranking official's daughter and make her his secret mistress.

Xie Rongyan, the young master of the Duke's residence, had been a living corpse for three years after saving the emperor.

When he first met Du Lanruo, his eyes were full of disdain. He tested her at every turn, convinced she had ulterior motives and was deeply calculating.

Later, when he saw her smiling shyly at someone else and even trying to break things off with him so she could become engaged to another man, he locked her to the foot of the bed in the middle of the night and threatened her, eyes bloodshot: “If you dare say yes, I'll see to it that you get engaged to a dead man.”

“Since you had the nerve to tempt me, you'll be my servant for the rest of your life.”

But when the truth finally came out, he was the one kneeling before her. “Aruo, please...”

“Don't rip my heart out.”
