Three Dreams of the Pagoda

By the Wangchuan River in the underworld stands an old shop that has been open for who knows how many years. It's called Three Dreams of the Pagoda. The shop has only one employee, a beautiful proprietress, and three attendants. One attendant in particular deserves a mention: Zhang Laosan, a strikingly handsome, delicate-looking man who happens to be blind. The underworld's ghost officials all say that Zhang Laosan and the proprietress are lovers. But whenever some bored ghost brings it up, the proprietress roars them down: “I'm a married woman!” Oh, right, the proprietress is a widow, which only fuels the rumor that Zhang Laosan lusts after the pretty widow and has willingly lowered himself to work as her attendant. Ah, a widow's doorstep is always rife with gossip. There's not much else to say about the shop. It does business with all six realms, and the proprietress claims there's nothing she can't help with, as long as what you offer is valuable enough. Then there's the thousand-year-old nine-tailed fox, the general ghost, the mirror demon... They all tell their own stories, some sad, some happy.
