The First-Rank Mad Scholar

He’s just transmigrated into the body of a penniless scholar with nothing but bare walls, and already some cruel servants show up with a gang to seize his ancestral home and meager fields! The original owner was a coward, but I, Fang Han, am not! With the soul of a modern-day corporate drone and the status of a scholar in this life, I thought I was as good as dead... Who knew a single legal complaint and a few cutting words would scare the cruel servants half to death, while the corrupt local gentry behind them sent over two hundred taels in hush money before dawn! Who says scholars only know how to spout classical phrases? The modern knowledge in my head is my greatest trump card! “One part saltpeter, two parts sulfur, three parts charcoal”... Hey, this stuff looks interesting! While everyone else is still playing with mud, I’ve already set my sights on the stars and the sea! Should I take the two hundred taels and live in fear, letting my enemies get away with their crimes? Or use this knowledge from beyond my time to build guns and cannons, become richer than a kingdom and more powerful than the court, and finally clear my family’s name? I choose to burn this rotten world to the ground with the flames of industry! With one handful of black powder, he refines ten thousand taels of gold in three days. The corrupt gentry kneel and beg for mercy, while the emperor cries, “He is a pillar of the nation!”
