The Human Emperor’s Edict: Carving Out a Bright New World

“Great Tang” is not called “Great Tang,” and “Great Song” is named “Great Eulogy.” What sort of dynasty is this? The Celestial Empire, “Great Tang,” is in truth a land of demon spirits known as “sugar figurines”; the exalted state, “Great Eulogy,” is home to monsters called “eulogists.” After the Tang defeat at the Battle of Talas, the An Lushan Rebellion broke out, and the Black-Clad Arabs invaded. Demons ran rampant through the mountains, and ghosts laid waste to the living. The glory of the Celestial Empire was no more. Its name and banners changed, it made offerings to ghosts and worshiped demons, and humanity became “lambs,” facing imminent destruction. The red banners flutter above a twenty-thousand-li Great Wall of bones. Li Qingniu sits astride his horse, blade in hand, and turns westward. “These petty demons and monsters are nothing but buffoons. How dare they bully our Huaxia as if it had no heroes? I hereby issue the decree of the Human Emperor. Follow me, and together we'll carve a dawn from the chaos for generations to come!”
