A Heart Out of Control

An Shiyu and Shen Du's marriage-of-convenience contract was about to expire, so she took the initiative and handed him divorce papers. Over the past four years, they had barely interacted. Shen Du's rumored affairs had drawn far more attention than their life together. Yet that very night, someone kissed her awake in the dark. Amid the heavy breathing, An Shiyu met a pair of pitch-black, predatory eyes. A searing kiss fell upon her. She turned her face away. In the darkness, only their heartbeats intertwined. A moment later, her chin was forcefully turned back. Shen Du braced one arm beside her. His stern face was calm to the point of indifference as he silently brushed the hair from her cheek, lowered his head, and continued kissing her.
