The Farmer Girl Becomes Queen

Daniuniu was sold to the Wei family as a child bride because her family was poor, but the family mistreated her when she failed to conceive. She learns by chance that infertility might be the man's fault, so she plans to get close to the village idiot in the hope of becoming pregnant. The idiot is kindhearted and once saved Daniuniu. As they spend time together, they gradually develop feelings for each other. After Daniuniu becomes pregnant, the Wei family takes her back, but continues to abuse her, suspecting the baby's sex. The Wei family matriarch, Li Guizhi, conspires with Erlai Zi, causing the family to fall into ruin and eventually be destroyed. The idiot returns to the palace with his mother, only to get caught up in a struggle for the throne. Daniuniu is brought into the palace by the Second Prince. After she gives birth to a son, the Crown Prince's faction persecutes her. She escapes the palace several times, and eventually finds the Second Prince. After returning to the palace, the Second Prince quells the rebellion, rescues his mother, and ascends the throne. Daniuniu feels she is unworthy of being empress. The idiot says, "Daniuniu, come here and let me feel what it's like to be forced again."
