Ge Chunni of Zhuwu Alley

The Ge family on Zhu Wu Street became one of the first households to amass a fortune of ten thousand yuan after the Reform and Opening Up. Ge Chunni was given away for adoption when she was young, leaving a rift between her and her family. At school, boys pursued her relentlessly while the girls ostracized her. Her parents were too busy with business to guide her, and often misunderstood her… The Ge Chunnis grow up amid bickering and laughter, witnessing the changes in mobile phones, living through the Wenchuan earthquake and mass layoffs, and watching the Asian Games and the dazzling Beijing Winter Olympics. They also experience the rise and fall of their family business. No matter what happens, the Ge Chunnis meet the times with the stubbornness of ordinary people, adding a little glimmer of light to the march of progress.
