After Ten Years as a Hostage, Is It So Wrong for This Heir to Go a Little Wild?

Yan Hui transmigrated into the body of the heir of Northern Yan, a wastrel known throughout the land. The original owner had spent fifteen years as a hostage in the Great Jin imperial palace. When he returned, he should have inherited the title of heir. Who could have guessed he’d be stripped of it as soon as he got back? Who could put up with that? The whole prince’s estate mocked and snubbed him, and the people of Northern Yan considered him a disgrace. The servants abused him with abandon, and the maids made life difficult for him at every turn. Even passing dogs barked at him twice. The imperial clan wanted the heirs of the various princes to serve as hostages. Wouldn’t that mean he’d suffered for fifteen years for nothing? Anyone might put up with that, but his aunt certainly wouldn’t! After enduring it for fifteen years, if he kept going, he’d turn into a ninja turtle. They wanted the heir’s title? They could go serve as hostages in the imperial palace themselves. No one would take what belonged to him. He was determined to claim that position. He punched the princess consort and imprisoned the Prince of Yan. He built up his own forces and amassed a million troops. He held off the Xiongnu in the north and rejected the court’s attempts to recruit him in the south. What? The court accused him of rebellion and demanded that he hand over all the grain and weapons he’d stockpiled? This heir spent ten years as a hostage. The court had scared him half to death long ago. It wasn’t unreasonable to stockpile a little extra, was it?
