I Became a Princess Consort, but I Still Have to Earn Merit? Not Amused

Yang Xuanxi was the true heiress of a duke’s household.

Switched at birth, she grew up in a Taoist temple,

where she learned all sorts of arcane arts. She could have earned a fortune,

but unfortunately, she was born under a curse of poverty:

every coin she spent used up an equal amount of merit.

Her master said her destiny lay at the foot of the mountain.

So Yang Xuanxi returned to her birth parents,

living in a grand mansion, wearing fine silks, and eating delicacies.

Every morning, she threw herself into doing good deeds, catching evil spirits, and accumulating merit,

afraid that if she ran out, she’d be done for.

Just as she was caught in this vicious cycle, an unexpected opportunity appeared:

the crippled prince possessed imperial dragon energy. Money he nurtured could be spent freely by her.

Yang Xuanxi rushed over to cling to him.

Wait, she only wanted to get some money to spend.

How did she end up as the crippled prince’s consort?
