The Fierce Bride Marries a Duke

Wen Yuyao, the illegitimate daughter of a local official in the flourishing Tang dynasty, cared nothing for her reputation and beat up a member of the imperial clan. Before she was even married, the people in the streets were already calling her a shrew. Even so, suitors still came flocking, one after another. The man was a gentle, virtuous gentleman, but she stirred up his darkest desires. On the verge of confining and forcing her, he struggled to keep himself in check, wishing he could personally cut off every one of Wen Yuyao's romantic prospects and make her entirely his. But the political situation was treacherous, and the Wen family was drawn into it. For a time, the Crown Prince's faction lost power. Wen Yuyao was humiliated in the palace and made to kneel. Her one act of submission won her family a way to survive, but also awakened the man's rebellious ambitions. With imperial robes on his shoulders, the man took Yuyao by the hand. “Will you be my empress?”
