A Courtesan from the Start, and You Call Me Your Majesty?

The Great Zhou dynasty has lasted for over two hundred years. Its new emperor, Li Xuanji, spends his days in luxury and debauchery, paying no attention to state affairs.

The people across the land are left struggling just to survive.

Xu An, a model young man of the new era, transmigrates by sheer chance to the famous brothel Drunken Immortal Tower in the capital, where he becomes the establishment’s top courtesan, a chaste entertainer.

All Xu An wants is to earn enough money to buy his freedom as soon as possible. Then, by chance, he meets Li Qinghan, the Great Zhou dynasty’s eldest princess.

After several encounters, Li Qinghan takes a special liking to Xu An.

“Your Highness, you mustn’t!”

“Do you think I’m ugly?”

“You’re the most beautiful woman in the capital. Who would dare call you ugly?”

“Then why not?”

“I’m afraid the Marquis of Zhennan and your imperial brother will have me beheaded!”

“I don’t care. If you refuse, I’ll have you beheaded myself!”

Before he knows it, Xu An is caught up in the treacherous world of court politics.

From the top courtesan of Drunken Immortal Tower to the powerful chancellor, The Outcast, second only to the emperor...

Years later, Xu An gazes upon the magnificent realm he has won and lets out a sigh:

“I really never meant to become emperor!”
